Inspiring Excellence commenced operation in 2008 in spite of the global financial crisis.  It is the brainchild of Dr Kristy Howard, Managing Director and founder and is aimed at helping everyday regional and rural Australians achieve excellence in all facets of life. 

Inspiring Excellence currently partners with The Regional Development Company, Farming Answers and Catherine McGowan Consulting to deliver a range of projects.

A little bit about Dr Kristy Howard.....

Dr Kristy Howard has been designing, running and evaluating industry development and training programs for farmers in the Meat and Wool industries since 1995.  In 2008 she started her own consulting business, Inspiring Excellence, focusing on business coaching and mentoring, project management and facilitation and project research, analysis and evaluation. 

Kristy is passionate about inspiring and enabling people, businesses and communities to achieve their potential through professional and personal growth.  She is especially passionate about working with rural and regional Australians, in particular farmers and women seeking a balance between work and motherhood.

Originally trained as a Research Scientist in Agricultural Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Kristy has made the successful transition from research to extension to consulting.  She has achieved change in a variety of industries and community organisations through application of her unique blend of leadership, engagement, management, facilitation, mentoring and coaching skills. 

As a project leader for the Victorian Department of Primary Industries (DPI) for over 14 years, Kristy has evaluated, reviewed and designed a number of extension programs for landholders and is quite experienced in providing an astute review and analysis of the situation and issues.   She is very adept at sourcing information and able to understand and interpret complex technical, economic and sociological data, presenting it in a variety of formats to suit various levels of understanding and expertise. 

Kristy’s greatest strength lies in her ability to bring together people with a variety of skills and experiences to work effectively to achieve outcomes beyond initial expectations and limitations.  She achieves this using a variety of innovative and creative approaches.
